Metro To Hold Public Meeting On Bus Bench Advertising

July 19, 2021

Public may submit feedback on advertising plan

CINCINNATI –
The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) will hold a public meeting to receive comments from the community regarding Metro’s bus bench advertising program.

The meeting will take place Thursday, July 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the 23rd floor of the Huntington Center, 525 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH, 45202.

BUS BENCH ADVERTISING PROPOSAL

The objectives of the advertising program are to improve rider experience by providing benches at bus stops and to add benches without impacting Metro’s operating budget.

The proposed bench design would be the only bench approved by the City of Cincinnati for advertising in the public right of way. The design features a deeper bench with a higher seat back than existing Metro bus stop benches, providing a larger advertising space.

As part of Metro’s existing contract with Adsposure, 400 benches will be installed at selected stops throughout Metro’s service area over the next seven years. Adsposure will be responsible for permitting, installation, cleaning and maintenance. Advertising revenue pays for bench installation and upkeep with no additional cost to Metro or the community.

Full details of the proposal are available on Metro’s website at go-metro.com/bus-bench-advertising.
