Metro is again inviting artists who live or work in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Northside to create art that will be incorporated onto pylons at Metro’s Northside Transit Center.
Metro is again inviting artists who live or work in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Northside to create art that will be incorporated onto pylons at Metro’s Northside Transit Center.

The Northside Transit Center, located near the intersection of Spring Grove Avenue and Blue Rock Street, will serve eight routes: 15X, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 27 and 51. Metro broke ground on the transit center, which will serve Metro’s busiest transfer point outside of Downtown, in October 2019. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2020.

The submission deadline for those interested in having their artwork considered for the project is midnight on March 27, 2020. Individual artists and artist teams comprised of two people who have a history of creating art together may apply. The call is open to both experienced public artists and artists who are new to the field of public art.

Each artist/artist team whose work is selected for the project will receive a $1,000 honoraria as well as recognition on Metro’s social media, on its website and at the grand opening event.
