New Proposed Routes
Route 18 | Colerain – Downtown
New peak-only commuter route serving Colerain and Mt. Airy along Colerain Ave, running express from Colerain/West Fork to Downtown via I-74 and I-75. Designed to reduce crowding on peak time Route 19 trips and provide a faster trip for Colerain and Mt. Airy residents working Downtown.
Route 47 | Northside – Oakley Transit Center
New crosstown route running from Casey Apt in Northside to the Oakley Transit Center via Spring Grove Ave, Mitchell Ave, Reading Rd, and Dana Ave and then following the existing Route 51 alignment through Norwood, Hyde Park, and Oakley Designed to speed up crosstown travel times by bypassing Uptown for riders currently using Route 51 to go through Uptown.
Proposed Local Service Updates
Route 46
Remove from Este Ave and rerouted inside Winton Terrace to run the same directions as Route 16. Remove from Mitchell Ave from Vine to Reading and reroute to run on Forest Ave in Avondale. Designed to significantly shorten travel times for most riders and provide a more reliable, direct service. Lost portion on Este Ave to be replaced by Route 27, lost portion on Mitchell Ave to be replaced by Route 47.
Route 51
With the exception of trips serving Walnut Hills HS, Evanston Academy, and AWL, the route will no longer run east of Reading Rd and will only run from Glenway Crossing TC to its new end of line in Uptown. All portions of the route no longer running will be covered by Route 47 instead. Purpose is to create new, faster crosstown options via the 47 and 53 as well as shorten a long and unreliable route which is frequently severely delayed due to its length and running on several different major roads.
Other proposed local route updates:
Rt. 11: Removal of overnight service from 1 a.m. – 4 a.m. due to very low ridership during these times.
Rt. 19: Add new overnight service 7-days a week between Downtown and Mt. Airy. Designed to serve late night workers in Downtown and Uptown who live in Uptown or Mt. Airy.
Rt. 27: Remove service from Casey Apts./Kirby and extend from Northside Transit Center to Kenard Kroger and Este Ave.
Proposed Express & Commuter Route Updates
Route 22X
- Route will run summer schedule until mid-August before returning to full schedule
- Two eastbound AM trips and two westbound PM trips will remain
- No other changes
