Metro Highlights Employee Excellence at Annual Golden Bus Awards
March 9, 2026
Each March, transit agencies across the country recognize the people who keep public transportation moving every day. From operators and mechanics to street supervisors and administrative staff, these employees play a vital role in delivering safe, reliable service to the communities they serve.
To begin this year’s celebration, Metro recognized seven employees for exceptional service during its annual Golden Bus Awards Employees of the Year Banquet. The awards highlight individuals whose dedication, professionalism, and commitment to riders represent the very best of Metro and the people who keep the region moving every day.
The winners of the Golden Bus Awards are:
- Kymberly Jackson, Dispatcher | Administrative Staff
- Alyssa Lascheid, Marketing & Customer Experience Manager | Leadership Team
- Arnold Odame, Repair Person/Spotter | Bond Hill Maintenance
- Daniel Elfers, General Repair Person | Queensgate Maintenance
- Marcus Nelson, Operator | Access
- Keith Wright, Operator | Bond Hill Operations
- Jeffrey Oliver, Operator | Queensgate Operations
“At Metro, we know that great service begins with great people,” said Andy Aiello, Metro’s CEO and General Manager. “The Golden Bus Award recipients represent the very best of our workforce and the culture of teamwork and commitment that drives our organization forward.”
The Golden Bus Award represents the highest recognition within Metro’s employee recognition program. Recipients are selected from among winners of the organization’s monthly Silver Wheel Award. In 2025, employees submitted 235 nominations for the Silver Wheel Award, resulting in 25 monthly winners who were then considered for this year’s Golden Bus honors.
Throughout the month of March, more than 1,100 Metro employees will be recognized and celebrated as part of Transit Employee Appreciation Week, honoring the commitment and dedication they bring to serving both the organization and the community.
