Beginning August 16, Metro will launch three new routes and introduce service improvements across the network to make travel more reliable and convenient. Updated schedules will be released soon.
 

As part of Metro’s ongoing commitment to improving the customer experience, several fixed-route services will receive route and schedule enhancements beginning August 16, 2026. These changes include the introduction of three new routes: Rt. 47 Avondale–Oakley, Rt. 53 St. Bernard–Oakley, and Rt. 70 UC Connector. 

• Rt. 47 (Avondale–Oakley) will provide new service between Casey Apartments and the Oakley Transit Center, traveling via Kirby Avenue, Chase Avenue, Spring Grove Avenue, Mitchell Avenue, and Dana Avenue before continuing along the existing Rt. 51 alignment. 

• Rt. 53 (St. Bernard–Oakley) will connect the Northside Transit Center and the Oakley Transit Center, operating via Spring Grove Avenue, Mitchell Avenue, Vine Street, Ross Avenue/Tennessee Avenue, Sherman Avenue, and Robertson Avenue. 
   

• Rt. 70 (UC Connector) will provide direct service between the University of Cincinnati’s Uptown campus and the university’s Blue Ash campus, offering a convenient connection for students, faculty, staff, and the general public.  

Route and Scheduling Adjustments 
Several existing routes will also receive route and schedule enhancements to improve reliability, streamline service, and strengthen connections across the Metro network. Significant changes include: 

• Rt. 51 (Uptown Connector) will be shortened to operate between the Glenway Crossing Transit Center and Reading Road. Service previously provided on the eastern portion of the route will be replaced by the new Rt. 47, maintaining connectivity for riders. 
   

• Rt. 27 (Beekman – Linn) will no longer serve Casey Apartments and Kirby. Instead, the route will extend from the Northside Transit Center to the Kenard Kroger and Este Avenue. Downtown, the route will also move to Government Square Area C to improve traffic flow and reduce bus congestion. 

• Rt. 46 (Avondale) has been streamlined to provide a more direct connection between Winton Terrace and downtown. The revised route will serve the Kenard Kroger before continuing via Mitchell Avenue, Vine Street, Forest Avenue, Burnet Avenue, and Race Street, with a layover at the Freedom Center. 

 
Other schedule and/or route adjustments will take place on the following routes: 4, 8, 10, 11, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 31, 32, 37, 41, 43, 64, 65, 67, and 71X.

Student Transportation for the 2026-2027 School Year 
Metro and Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) will continue their decades-long partnership to provide 7th-12th graders with safe, reliable, and efficient transportation. To help families prepare for the new school year, Metro staff will attend CPS orientation events and be available at major transit centers during the first days of school to assist with trip planning and answer questions. Parents and guardians may also ride free with their students from August 19-26 to help ease the transition. 

Metro also continues its fare-free partnerships with the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati State, Xavier University, Mount St. Joseph University, and The Christ College, allowing eligible students and employees to ride Metro at no cost after registering.
