Riders with bikes ride free on Metro in celebration of National Bike-to-Work Day on May 16
Bike and Ride the Bus FREE on Bike-To-Work Day
May 9, 2025

Thinking about giving commuting by bike a try? Friday, May 16, is the perfect time to start. In celebration of National Bike-to-Work Day, Metro is offering free rides to bus riders who bring a bike.
Anyone who loads a bike onto a bus’s front-mounted bike rack will ride for free that trip. It’s a great opportunity to discover how simple and convenient it is to combine biking and busing for your daily commute.
All Metro buses are equipped with easy-to-use bike racks that hold up to two bicycles. Please note that bikes are not permitted inside buses unless they are foldable and can fit under a seat.
“Bike-to-Work Day is a great reminder of how seamlessly biking and transit can work together,” said Brandy Jones, Metro’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. “We’re committed to making it easier for riders to choose multimodal options that fit their lifestyles—whether that’s biking to a bus stop or riding the bus part of the way up one of Cincinnati’s famous hills. It’s all about giving people more flexibility while moving through the region.”
Join Us for Breakfast on the Bridge
Metro is also a proud sponsor of Breakfast on the Bridge, which will be held on May 16 from 7 to 9 a.m. on the Newport side of the Purple People Bridge. Hosted by Tri-State Trails, this Bike Month tradition celebrates bike commuters with free breakfast, resources, and more. Metro will be there with a demo bike rack so attendees can learn how to load a bike on the bus.
