CINCINNATI – Metro is proud to host its third annual Car Free Day Cincy on Friday, Sept. 22 with free rides on all Metro fixed-route service, Access paratransit and MetroNow! services.

Car Free Day is an international movement to encourage motorists to give up their automobiles for a day and instead use public transit, bike, walk, carpool or telecommute.

“Car Free Day Cincy has already become one of our favorite days of the year at Metro,” said Brandy Jones, SVP, External Affairs at Metro. “Choosing to use transit for just even a portion of your commutes, not only save you value dollars at just $2 a ride, but also significantly reduces your carbon footprint.”

As part of the Reinventing Metro Plan, Metro has added new routes, 24-hour service on several routes, increased frequency and improved customer amenities, like shelters, benches, and real-time bus arrival and mobile payment apps. It’s never been a better time or easier to decrease your reliance on cars.
