CINCINNATI – Metro is continuing its tradition of honoring Veterans Day by making all rides free for veterans and active-duty military, including the National Guard and Reserves, on Metro’s fixed bus routes and on Access paratransit on Thursday, Nov. 11.
To ride free on Veterans Day, active, reserve and retired military members can show valid proof of military or veteran status upon boarding the bus, including:
– U.S. Department of Defense-issued military ID card
– Veterans Affairs ID card
– State-issued driver’s license with veteran designation
Beyond Veterans Day, Metro’s support of veterans is a year-round effort, thanks to the Metro Veterans Program (MVP).
Launched last Veterans Day, MVP offers veterans, active-duty and reserve personnel bus fare at half-price. With transportation services among the top requests received by veteran-support organizations, Metro is proud to help provide access to employment, health care, and other services that support veterans as they return to civilian life.
Metro will operate on its normal weekday schedule on Veterans Day. For schedule information or to plan a trip, download Transit app or visit go-metro.com
