Ride fare-free, skip parking hassles, and celebrate Reds Opening Day.
Rounding Third and Heading for Metro
March 12, 2026
There is no city that celebrates Opening Day quite like Cincinnati. To help fans get to the festivities safely and conveniently, Metro will provide fare-free rides on Thursday, March 26. All Metro fixed routes and Access paratransit service will be free for the entire day.
“Opening Day is one of Cincinnati’s most celebrated traditions, and Metro is proud to help fans be part of the excitement,” said Brandy Jones, Metro’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. “With gas prices and parking costs continuing to rise, Metro offers a convenient and affordable way to get downtown and enjoy the celebration.”
Opening Day Parade Metro Detours
The Findlay Market Reds Opening Day Parade begins at noon on Thursday, March 26. As a result, Government Square and several Downtown bus stops will temporarily close throughout the morning and early afternoon. See below for temporary boarding locations during the parade.
Detours will be lifted shortly after the parade concludes. Riders are encouraged to download the Transit app for real-time bus tracking, service alerts, and route updates throughout the day, or contact the Metro Customer Care Center at 513-632-7575 with any questions.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Evie, Metro’s mascot, in the Opening Day Parade.
