Metro is proud to continue its tradition of honoring Veterans Day by offering fare-free rides on all Metro fixed-route and Access paratransit services for veterans and active- or reserve-duty military members, including the National Guard and Reserves, on Tuesday, November 11.

To ride free on Veterans Day, active, reserve, and retired military members simply need to show proof of service when boarding, which may include:

  • U.S. Department of Defense-issued military ID card
  • Veterans Affairs ID card
  • State-issued driver’s license with veteran designation
  • Metro Veterans Program (MVP) Card

“Veterans Day is a time to recognize the courage and commitment of the men and women who have served our country,” said Brandy Jones, Metro Chief Communications & Marketing Officer. “This small gesture is our way of saying thank you and helping make it easier for veterans and military members to take part in local events and connect with their communities.”

Metro Veterans Program (MVP)
Metro proudly supports veterans year-round through its Metro Veterans Program (MVP), which offers half-price fares for approved veterans and active-duty personnel. In addition, Metro’s partnership with the Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission provides free transportation to VA medical appointments on all fixed-route buses for MVP card holders. These ongoing efforts highlight Metro’s commitment to ensuring veterans have reliable, affordable access to essential destinations and services.

Metro will operate on its regular weekday schedule on Veterans Day.
