CINCINNATI – In honor of Veterans Day, Metro will offer free rides to military veterans and active-duty personnel on Wednesday, November 11.

“Providing veterans in our community with free rides is our small way of saying thank you for their sacrifice, bravery and commitment to serving and protecting our country,” said Darryl Haley, Metro CEO and General Manager. “There are at least 54,000 veterans living in Hamilton County, and Metro wants each and every one of them to be able to access the services they need, especially on Veterans Day.”

To ride Metro and Access free on November 11, active, reserve and retired military members are asked to show valid proof of veteran status upon boarding the bus, including:

- U.S. Department of Defense issued military ID card
- Veterans Affairs ID card
- State issued driver's license with veteran designation

Metro will operate on its normal weekday schedule on Veterans Day. For schedule information or to plan a trip, download Transit app, or visit go-metro.com/mapsandschedules.

Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 13.5 million rides per year.
