CINCINNATI - UC's back in session on Sept. 21. To encourage westsiders to try new Rt. 38X Glenway Crossing-Uptown Express direct to the UC area, all rides on Rt. 38X are free on Wednesday, Sept. 21 only.

The direct service connects Cincinnati's westside neighborhoods with the growing Uptown area with six morning and six afternoon trips on weekdays.

In addition to UC, the route serves Good Samaritan, Christ, and University hospitals, as well as the Cincinnati VA and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Rt. 38X also serves the Environmental Protection Agency, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, and other uptown employers. The route does not go downtown.

Customers can board at designated bus stops along the route. The schedule and map can be found at: http://www.go-metro.com/Aug2011routes/Rt38X_web.PDF.

Fare is normally $1.75 each way, or $70 for a pass offering unlimited monthly rides.

Rt. 38X uses the new Glenway Crossing Transit Center & Park & Ride, now under construction in the Glenway Crossing Shopping Center at Glen Crossing Way and Anderson Ferry Road (across from HH Gregg). Free parking is available in the adjacent lot during construction.

Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year.
