CINCINNATI – The Anderson Towne Center Kroger store is partnering with Metro and Anderson Township to boost bus ridership at events on June 19 and 27, from 6-8 a.m., at the Anderson Center Station park & ride (7832 Five Mile, near Anderson Center). Anderson Township and Metro are encouraging more residents in the community to take advantage of the convenient and direct service to downtown.

First-time bus riders will receive a free round-trip ride on Rt. 30X, 75X and 81X express buses to try the Metro for their commute to work. The Anderson Towne Center Kroger store will provide free coffee and donuts for riders. People who bring a “bus buddy” or who recruit new riders are eligible to enter a drawing for a free Metro 30-day rolling pass. They also will also receive a free gallon of milk from the Anderson Towne Center Kroger if they show their bus sticker.

“Kroger is proud to participate in this ‘green’ promotion”, said Dave Wall, Kroger manager. “Our company has a history of promoting healthy and environmentally- friendly lifestyles.” The Anderson Towne Center Kroger has been a leader in its recycling efforts as it diverted 71,000 pounds from the landfill last year.

Fare is $2.65 for all of the Metro routes serving the Anderson Center Station park & ride. For more information on Metro’s Rt. 30X, 75X, and 81X express services, visit www.go-metro.com or call 621-4455 weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Metro is a tax-supported public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati.
