Important changes
to the UC*Metro program
With the start of the 2008 Fall Quarter, please note the following important changes to the UC*Metro program:
- You may use your valid UC ID to ride until Oct. 19; after this date you must have a special UC*Metro fare card to ride free
- Get your UC*Metro fare card free by registering at http://www.uc.edu/af/facilities/go_METRO.html; your pass will be mailed to you within three business days of registration
- Ride free anywhere, anytime, on any Metro route when you swipe your valid UC*Metro fare card through the farebox with the black stripe facing you
- Fall 08 UC*Metro fare cards expire Jan. 10, 2009
- Lost or stolen cards will be made invalid when a replacement card is requested. One-time replacement of a UC*Metro pass will cost $50; visit http://www.uc.edu/af/facilities/go_METRO.html for more information
- Effective Oct. 19, 2008, NKU students/staff may no longer show their NKU IDs for free rides on Metro and UC students/staff may no longer show their UC IDs for free rides on TANK. This was a pilot program that has been discontinued.
- Call Metro at 513-632-7528 for more information weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other elements of the program remain the same:
- All current UC students, faculty and staff at all UC campuses are eligible for this program
- Not valid on special services like Bengals, Riverfest
- Ride Access with valid UC ID and tickets available from Disability Services Office (Access-eligible riders with disabilities only)
- The UC*Metro Program is funded by the University of Cincinnati and UC Student Government
Nine routes serve UC’s main campus seven days a week unless otherwise noted:
Don’t just ride to class – go to work, shopping, visit friends, see a movie or…? Here are just a few of the places you can go:
- Go* shopping. Northgate Mall, Tri-County Mall, Anderson Towne Center, Western Hills Plaza, Hyde Park Plaza, Oakley, the Gateway Quarter or downtown are all located on Metro routes that serve UC.

- Go*enjoy. See a play at the Aronoff, an exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center, a Reds game or Party in the Park (Sawyer Point and Great American Ball Park are just a short walk from Government Square)
