SORTA & U.S. Small Business Administration to sign Strategic Alliance Memorandum.

CINCINNATI — The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority is hosting a small business meet and greet breakfast on Dec. 6, 8:30-11:30 a.m. at McCormick & Schmick’s.

This event will give small business owners an opportunity to learn about the U.S. Small Business Administration’s programs, including how to access capital and bonding education. Attendees will also meet representatives from Metro’s procurement team and make important contacts to help them grow their businesses.

“Metro is committed to reinventing how we do business and recognizes the value in increasing small business participation in our procurement processes,” said Diversity & Inclusion Director Demarcus L. Peters, J.D. “Opening our doors to diverse suppliers bolsters our regional economy and provides jobs to local residents. This event is just one of the many ways we are continuing to connect with potential suppliers and provide information about how they can better work with us.”

Metro’s CEO Dwight A. Ferrell and the U.S. SBA Region V Administrator Marianne O’Brien Markowitz will be signing the Strategic Alliance Memorandum highlighting their commitment to helping promote small businesses through information sharing and efforts that result in the removal of barriers to their participation in transportation-related contracts.
