Kenneth Reed Joins SORTA Board Of Trustees

CINCINNATI - Kenneth F. Reed, AIC, ARM-P, was named to the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority's board of trustees on Sept. 20.

CINCINNATI - Kenneth F. Reed, AIC, ARM-P, was named to the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority's board of trustees on Sept. 20.

Reed has worked in or with public transit since 1998. He is currently Loss Control Services Manager for the Ohio Transit Risk Pool, where he is responsible for the oversight of all loss control, training, and risk auditing activities.

He previously served as General Manager at Butler County Regional Transit Authority in Hamilton, Ohio.  Since 1994, Reed has served on the board of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (OKI) Regional Council of Governments, which coordinates regional transportation planning in the Greater Cincinnati region. He also spent 12 years as an elected member of Trenton City Council, a community of 11,000, situated in southwest Ohio.

Reed holds a BSBA from The Ohio State University in Marketing/Transportation Logistics and has post-graduate designations of Associate in Claims (AIC) and an Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P) from the Insurance Institute of America (IIA/CPCU).

Reed, and his wife, Ruth, reside in Trenton, Ohio.

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is governed by a 13-member volunteer citizens' board of trustees. Seven trustees are appointed by the City of Cincinnati and six are appointed by Hamilton County. Hamilton County appoints three of its own trustees and one each representing Butler, Clermont and Warren counties.

Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year.
