Take a "TrYP" on Metro's Entertainment Bus
CINCINNATI – New riders, YPs and anyone looking to have a good time while learning how to ride Metro are invited to “Take a TrYP” on the Metro entertainment bus on Saturday, Aug. 29 between 8 p.m.-2 a.m.
The event, now in its second year, is a collaborative effort between Metro and Cincy YPs to encourage Millennial-aged riders to give Metro a try. Metro’s Outreach and Sustainability Manager Kim Lahman and volunteers at the two organizations worked closely to develop a bus education program that introduces Metro to young professionals on their terms.
“This is a fun way for young professional to be introduced to Metro’s services,” said Lahman. “I believe most participants will feel more comfortable giving Metro a try after they experience just how easy and convenient public transit can be.”
Participants will learn tips to plan their trip including how to read a schedule, catch a bus and use Metro’s real-time apps. The event also includes an evening of socializing while riding the bus to enjoy special promotions at 17 popular establishments along the event route in downtown, OTR, Oakley, Hyde Park, O’Bryonville, Mt. Lookout and East Walnut Hills.
Those interested in participating may purchase a “Take a TrYP” pass good for unlimited rides for only $7 or purchase four passes at the group rate of $20. Passes may be purchased at any of the stops along the route or online at http://www.cincyyp.org/take-a-tryp/. The shuttle is open to the public and individual rides are $1.75, Metro’s regular fare.
