Metro Summer Service Changes Begin Sunday, May 31

Metro’s regular summer service changes will go into effect on Sunday, May 31.

CINCINNATI – Metro’s regular summer service changes will go into effect on Sunday, May 31.

The following routes will have new schedules with changes. All are minor service adjustments unless indicated (link to new schedule in blue): 

Rt. 1                Museum Center-Eden Park

Rt. 23X            Tri-County Express

Rt. 42X            West Chester Express/ Job Connection

Rt. 43              Reading Rd.

Rt. 43             Bond Hill

Rt. 43              Winton Hills

Rt. 52X            Harrison Express

Rt. 68              Sharonville Connection (service elimination; see below)

Rt. 71/71X       Kings Island Express/Job Connection

Rt. 72              Kings Island Direct (summer jobs service; see below)

Rt. 75X            Anderson Express

Rt. 81X            Mt. Washington Express

Rt. 82X            Eastgate Express 

Rt. 68 Sharonville Connection: Funding for the Rt. 68 pilot program service offering two trips per weekday to Miami-Jacobs Career College has expired. Service on this route will be discontinued effective June 1.

A public hearing will be held on May 26 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Metro’s Administrative Office, 602 Main St. Ste.1100. The public may attend this meeting to get more information and to provide official comment (written or verbal) about the service reduction. Comments may also be submitted through May 26 by 5 p.m. in the following ways:

Rt. 72 Kings Island Direct: The Rt. 72X Kings Island Direct service will begin for the season and will operate seven days a week, starting May 31. The fare on Rt. 72 Kings Island Direct only will be reduced to $2.25 each way through August 15 thanks to federal Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) grand funding awarded through the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments.

Schedules are now available at http://www.go-metro.com/riding-metro/maps-and-schedules and will soon be available by mail and in the Mercantile Building, 120 E. Fourth Street, across from Government Square, weekdays, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Pick up new bus schedules on Government Square: Metro representatives will be at Government Square downtown on Friday, May 29 from 7:30 to 9 a.m., distributing new schedules to riders and answering questions. For additional information, call Metro at 621-4455, weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year.
