Aug. 14 fall service change brings improvements

CINCINNATI - With a new express route from the to Uptown and two new park & ride options, Metro's fall service changes, which take effect Aug. 14 will provide more options to customers and improve the efficiency of Metro's service:

New Rt. 38X Glenway Crossing-Uptown Express:  The first new express service to Uptown and its 50,000 jobs, Metro's new Rt. 38X Glenway Crossing-Uptown Express will provide direct service connecting Cincinnati's westside neighborhoods to the growing Uptown area, including the University of Cincinnati, several hospitals, other large employers, and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Rt. 38X riders can use temporary parking adjacent to the site of the new Glenway Crossing Transit Center & Park & Ride, now under construction in the Glenway Crossing shopping center at the intersection of Anderson Ferry and Glencrossing Way.

Extended Rt. 23X and new Fairfield park & ride:  The Rt. 62/62X Fairfield Express and Job Connection has been eliminated at the request of the Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA), which funded the service. To provide improved service to Fairfield, BCRTA and Metro have agreed to extend the Rt. 23X Fairfield-Tri-County Express to serve more Fairfield locations. Rt. 23X will pick up and return to the new Fairfield Park & Ride, located at the Fairfield Crossing shopping center at the corner of State Route 4 and Symmes Rd. The 23X will also continue to serve the Forest Park Park & Ride on Kemper Meadow Lane.

Additional fall service improvements will be made to the following routes, starting on Aug. 14:

  • Rt. 1 Museum Center-Mt. Adams-Zoo: Schedule adjustments have been made throughout the day, with service every hour during weekday non-rush hours and once an hour on weekends.
  • Rt. 67 Sharonville Job Connection: Routing and time adjustments.
  • Rt. 19 Colerain Ave-Northgate: Two weekday trips were adjusted.
  • Rt. 71 Kings Island Direct/Job Connection: Weekday service ends for Kings Island Direct and only weekend service will be provided through October. Fare returns to $4.25 on weekdays for the Kings Island Job Connection. Weekend service fare is $2.25 through Oct. 30. The additional summer service to jobs at Kings Island was funded by a federal Job Access Reverse Commute grant. Rt. 71X service is not affected.
