S.O.R.T.A. Board names 2015 Leadership

Jason Dunn re-elected as SORTA Chair; Ken Reed as Vice Chair

CINCINNATI – The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) has re-elected Jason Dunn as Chair of the SORTA board for 2015. Ken Reed was re-elected Vice Chair.

“Transit is about economic development and connecting people to jobs. As the region’s authority on transit, we look forward to strengthening existing relationships and building new ones to support the local economy,” said Dunn.  “We’ve accomplished much in the past year and I’m excited about all that we have planned for 2015 and beyond.”

Jason Dunn: Dunn is director of multicultural affairs and community development for the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). In his current role, he develops and manages the CVB’s comprehensive multicultural strategy, working to more deeply engage the local community, region-wide partners, and the CVB sales team to provide support in analyzing and pursuing new business opportunities. A well-known, well-respected leader locally and nationally, he is described as the region’s strongest voice for Multicultural Conventions. In 2014, Mr. Dunn was selected by Mass Transit Magazine as a “Forty Under 40” award recipient for his impact on the transit industry.  Mr. Dunn joined the SORTA board in 2012. 

Ken Reed: Reed is Manager of Loss Control Services for the Ohio Transit Risk Pool, where he is responsible for the oversight of all loss control, training, and risk auditing activities. He previously served as General Manager at Butler County Regional Transit Authority in Hamilton, Ohio. Since 1994, Mr. Reed has served on the board of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (OKI) Regional Council of Governments, which coordinates regional transportation planning in the Greater Cincinnati region. He joined the SORTA Board in 2011.


: The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is a tax-supported, independent political subdivision of the State of Ohio. SORTA is governed by a 13-member Board of Trustees, with seven trustees appointed by Cincinnati City Council and six appointed by Hamilton County.


SORTA operates Metro fixed-route transit service and Access paratransit service for people whose disabilities prevent their riding Metro buses. Metro and Access provide about 17 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati.
