S.O.R.T.A. Names Two New Members to Board of Trustees
Jack Painter and Daniel St. Charles recently joined the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority’s board of trustees.
CINCINNATI –Jack Painter and Daniel St. Charles recently joined the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority’s board of trustees.
Jack Painter is a corporate attorney with Chemed Corporation. Prior to joining Chemed in 2013, he had his own private law practice and represented a diverse group of publicly and privately-held companies for over twenty years. He previously was Assistant General Counsel of Chiquita Brands International and an attorney with the law firm of Winston & Strawn in Chicago, Illinois, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, public and private financing, and international transactions.
Mr. Painter is a member of the Cincinnatus Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Federalist Society. He is a mentor to a foster child through the Higher Education Mentoring Initiative. He is founder of Liberty
Alliance Cincinnati and served on the board of the Ohio Liberty Coalition, a state-wide coalition of over 75 liberty-oriented groups. His previous volunteer experience includes serving on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, Riverside Academy Charter School, Life Skills Center of Cincinnati, and North Avenue Day Nursery in Chicago. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and B.S. in Business Management from Indiana University. Mr. Painter and his wife, Donna, currently reside in Indian Hill.
Daniel St. Charles is a web developer at DAS Solutions, LLC, contracting with Robert Half Technologies Inc. and Cando, Inc. His clients have included Organized Living, eBay and Fischer Homes. Mr. St. Charles previously worked as a contracted software developer, project leader and financial consultant for A.W. St. Charles & Associates Inc., and as IT director for Frank J. Catanzaro Sons & Daughters, Inc.
He is a board member of Blue Chip Republicans and the Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated from Xavier University. Mr. St. Charles currently resides in Dent.
The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is governed by a 13-member volunteer citizens’ board of trustees. Seven trustees are appointed by the City of Cincinnati and six are appointed by Hamilton County. Hamilton County appoints three of its own trustees and one each representing Butler, Clermont and Warren counties.
Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year.
