Metro, Anderson Township Partner on Commuter Promotion

Free rides, treats and prizes on June 19 and June 27, 6-8 a.m.

CINCINNATI – Metro and Anderson Township are teaming up to encourage more Anderson residents to ride Metro.

On June 19 and 27, from 6-8 a.m., first-time bus riders boarding at the Anderson Center Station park & ride (7832 Five Mile, near Anderson Center) will get a free round-trip ride on Rt. 30X, 75X and 81X express buses that connect Anderson Township directly to downtown.

Metro and Anderson Township staff will be on hand with free coffee and donuts for all riders, donated by Kroger in Anderson Towne Center.  To encourage more ridership, people who bring a “bus buddy” can win prizes.

Anderson Township recognizes the environmental benefits of residents using transit.  “We’re a green place to live, and fewer car trips mean better air quality,” said Tom Caruso with Anderson Township.  “The Anderson Center Station park & ride is popular, but we want to encourage even more people to commute downtown on Metro.”

Fare is $2.65 for all of the Metro routes serving the Anderson Center Station park & ride.  For more information on Metro’s Rt. 30X, 75X, and 81X express services, visit www.go-metro.com or call 621-4455 weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Metro is a tax-supported public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati.
