BUTLER COUNTY RIDERSHIP STRONG IN MARCH
Reminder: Butler County fares increase Monday
CINCINNATI - With gas prices high, more long-distance commuters turned to Metro to cut their transportation costs last month.
In March, Metro's Rt. 42X West Chester Express ridership was up 9%, compared to March 2007. The route provided about 624 rides per weekday or about 13,100 rides total last month. Commuters park free at the West Chester park & ride at the Meijer store, 7390 Tylersville Rd.
Metro provided nearly 2,800 rides in March to commuters in the Fairfield area on the Rt. 62X Fairfield Express. The route provided an average of 133 rides per day to commuters between the Tri-County Assembly of God Church park & ride, located off Circle Freeway Drive, and downtown Cincinnati.
Fares increase Monday
For both the Rt. 42X West Chester Express and Rt. 62X Fairfield Express, fares will increase Monday, April 14. Fare will be $3.00 one-way, an increase of $0.25 from the current $2.75 fare. Fares are set by Butler County Regional Transit Authority, which contracts with Metro to provide service.
