CINCINNATI - There's a Smog Alert issued for Thursday, Aug. 2 and Friday, Aug. 3... ride Metro to reduce car trips in the region and improve air quality.
Vehicle emissions are the biggest contributor to our region's smog problem, and one full Metro bus represents more than 50 fewer cars on the road. Metro provides about 70,000 rides per weekday during smog season.
Metro is doing its share for cleaner air, too. All buses operate on soybean-based biodiesel blend. Since the passage of the Clean Air Act of 1990, bus emissions have been reduced almost 100%, as a result of EPA's progressively stricter industry standards.
For bus schedules and information, call Metro at (513) 621-4455, weekdays
6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or visit www.go-metro.com.
Metro is a non-profit public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 22 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati.
